Octopus in a Barrel Netsuke

This octopus netsuke was carved to be emerging from a rotten, sunken barrel, imagining that it was lifting the lid to take a curious peek out at viewer as it is held.

The piece features natural himotoshi between the tentacles enabling the piece to be worn and presented as a netsuke. A one of a kind piece.

Materials: deer antler, brass, buffalo horn
